About BRKets

The BRKets Investor Group is a Singapore based grouping of select Investors who have come together to understand & analyze various investment opportunities in listed companies worldwide. It brings together, what we prefer to call, a group of 'Business analysts' as opposed to 'equity analysts'. The key differentiator being that the focus for the group is to understand the business dynamics, its Durable Competitive Advantage, management capability & long term viability of different business models and then invest in them as opposed to just trading in stocks.

With that objective in mind, the members of the group, as experienced focused investors, follow a focused investment philosophy. This approach results in members usually being vested in fewer than 10 equity investments at any given time and holding them for the long term. These businesses would be well understood & researched, and would usually possess superior business models and have the potential to give investors cumulative returns year after year through improved & sustained profitability.

Further the BRKets Group works closely with fund managers who between them control funds of over US$ 350 million. This enables the Group to attract more funds towards investment in companies where members of the group have vested interests based on detailed research & analysis.

The name BRKets and the members of the group itself were inspired by the Investment philosophies of compounding wealth and understanding business models as practiced by Berkshire Hathaway Inc. under the leadership of its Chairman Mr. Warren E. Buffett & its Vice Chairman, Mr. Charles T Munger.

The original NYSE stock symbol for Berkshire Hathaway was BRK and the founding members regularly met at the Cricket Club of Singapore. Thus was born the fused name 'BRKets' and pronounced as 'brickets'.

It is our objective, as Business analysts, to research, understand, invest in & to partner with, for the longer term, selected listed companies, with superior business models & Durable Competitive Advantages having predictable & growing corporate cash flows and which are run by shareholder focused & competent management of high integrity, resulting ultimately in superior returns on equity and compounded returns for investors.
